Seer Heat
Choosing between a 13 and a 15 SEER Heat Pump.?
I'm looking into buying a heat pump. Right now, I have to pick between a 13 and a 15 SEER one, both being 24 kBTU. Any tips on what I should be comparing/looking for to know which one suits best my needs?
Is 2 SEER really worth paying an extra grand, knowing that I pay only 0.0433$ / kWh?
I live in Canada, which is too bad because that tax credit would've sealed the deal!
Both systems have the same warranty (10 years parts and labor) and are the same brand (York).
A bit more information. I currently have a natural gas furnace. Since the climate here doesn't allow me to run a heat pump all year round, the idea is to have it as a primare heat source and have the furnace kick in when it's getting too cold (temperatures here can reach below -25C fairly regularly during winter).

Edit - Since you are in Canada and you're paying a ridiculously low energy rate, I would just go with the 13 SEER system. I'm assuming you're looking at air source heat pumps. Are you in a milder climate where air source heat pumps are better suited? Vancouver?
Regarding the warranty, you can choose to purchase an extended warranty for the 13 SEER system that is as good as higher SEER systems. Just remember, you don't get something for nothing. Believe me, that extended parts and labor warranty on the higher SEER systems isn't free.
